I maintain my position on watches but I’ll concede something:
When you’re handling some anxiety issues and also have a teacher that would issue extra homework if you take out your phone during class (college is odd here, don’t look at me) you can either adapt to not knowing what time it is, or you could go through a drawer of old shit and look for a 10 year old watch that was given to you for no real reason.
This is the only watch I own.... it’s from 2008 and surprisingly it still tells time!

Watches are great. I wore a watch in middle school and early high school. I can’t remember why I stopped wearing it. I didn’t wear one until I got a Tag as my graduation present from college. Worn one since.

I think some are really pretty (like uniform wares) but otherwise it’s not a world I’m well versed in, I remembered the watch today cus a friend asked if we could go change her tag’s batery; otherwise I wouldn’t have.

That is actually a decent watch, you should thank the person who gave it to you.
I would wear it, in other words. :D

Yeah, its quite good, I like the design, not quite as minimalist as I like, but rather cool, I just need to fix the wrisrband

Those who like watches like them a lot, I cannot find a lot of utility in an analogue watch, and I don’t find most attractive.
I think its similar to car people vs normies

Also now you can tell the time while other chumps can’t. WINNER!

I use to be the same, until I started wearing a cheap $50 mechanical watch and really appeciated the mechanical aspect of it.
The engineer in you should appreciated how these tiny pieces, jewels and gears all powered by a spring keep such great time. It’s also a piece of jewelry for men.

The only thing I need on an analog watch is the actual clock feature of a watch, and some way to illuminate it in the dark (even if it is some tritium pips or whatever material they use that’s supposed to glow.)

Agreed. I have a goal to own one Rolex in my life for not much more than checking off a box or as an investment. I’ve been wearing a $100 solar and atomic Casio for over ten years. If I had been so used to it, I wouldn’t wear it at all. My phone does everything the watch does. It was so much that way 10-15 years ago.

It’s pretty convenient to have the time right there on your wrist, you know. I like chronographs in particular because if you live by the billable hour it’s nice to be able to easily time things.
